Plagiarism

There are so many cases in the Philippines that talks about plagiarism.
Here are some cases about plagiarism in the Philippines.


First, The Pinoy band "Orange and Lemons" has been accused by plagiarizing by copying the melody of the song "Chandeliers," by the 1980s Band "The Care". And the music is used as the theme For Pinoy Big Brother

When the accusation has been stated the band has never been sued for alleged offense. The band members have been separated since that issue. Lead guitarist/vocalist Clem Castro got kicked out of the band. The three remaining band members Mcoy Fundales, Jm Del Mundo, and Ace Del Mundo formed a new band called Kenyo.

Second, In April 2010, business man Manuel V. Pangilinan tendered irrevocable resignation as chair of the Ateneo de Manila University(AdMU he was accused by plagiarizing his commencement speeches and deliver it to Graduation rites in March, and that the he copied the speeches from the celebrities like J.K. Rowling, Oprah Winfrey, Barack Obama, and Conan O'Brien. Even if Manuel was accused the one who is responsible for it is he's speechwriter and responsible for the Plagiarism

Third, In December 2010, UP College of Law  Dean Atty. Marvic Leonen submitted a resignation to UP Diliman Chancellor Sergio Cao after he was accused by plagiarizing parts of the article he wrote for the Journal of the integrated bar of the philippines.


Fourth, In November 2010, barely week after the Department of Tourism. (DOT) unveiled its "Pilipinas Kay Ganda campaign. Things just got worse when netizens, like blogger Spanky Hizon Enriquez, pointed out that the logo was similar to the one use in Polands' Tourism Campaign.


The DOT Undersecretary Vicente "Enteng" Romano was the in charge of the campaign. So he took full responsibility for it.


Fifth, In a blog entry posted on April 6, 2011 sports blogger Jaemark Tordecilla compared to veteran writer Krip Yuson's article on the Philippine Basketball Association publish in Rogue magazine. Tordecilla observes 'Almost the whole middle section of yuson's article and the whole paragraph was copied, with many changes made.
